Dental Implants

Individual implants

They are an option for those people who have lost a tooth, whether due to periodontal diseases, accidents or for other reasons.

Dental implants are artificial elements that are intended to restore the anatomy of one or more teeth, also restoring the relationship between the jaws, while restoring the patient’s security and confidence to eat, smile and speak in public.

The mere functionality of the prosthesis already means quality of life; and therefore health for the patient, but in addition to this, another fundamental objective of dental implants is to prevent the rest of the teeth from suffering deterioration, since the prostheses repair the vertical dimension of the mouth, thus avoiding bad joint positions that would have very disparate effects causing pain and discomfort in the patient’s mouth, therefore, dental implants also prevent the different structures that make up the mouth from adapting to the situation of lack of teeth and causing the patient possible situations that are unsuitable for the health of the teeth or for oral health in general.

The implants treatment is divided in 2 phases:

  1. Digital planning and surgery
  2. Digital design, milling and crown placig

Assessment and diagnosis

It begin with a visit to our clinic, where the case will be assigned to one of our specialists, who will be in charge of evaluating the patient’s case and sending the necessary diagnostic aids for the treatment plan (CT scans). Once we have these aids, our specialist will be in charge of carrying out the treatment plan, which includes the care schedule, the programming and delivery of the requirements to the dental laboratory and finally the design of the dental implants and crowns that are required. Likewise, complementary procedures will be scheduled with other specialists if required.

Surgical phase

Requires teamwork from a group of interdisciplinary specialists made up of a periodontist (specialist in gums and dental implants) and a prosthetist (specialist in dental crowns and bridges). They will be in charge of installing the implants in the patient’s mouth. After this surgery, it is necessary to let the procedure performed heal for between 4 and 6 months, so that no complications arise when placing the crown or prosthesis on the dental implant.

Placement of crown or prosthesis

Once the recovery and integration time of the implant has passed, our specialist will proceed to place the crown or prosthesis, as the case may be, in the patient’s mouth. At this stage the patient will already have a new piece that naturally resembles the rest of their teeth. After this phase, it is recommended that the patient attend maintenance and control appointments every 6 months.
